Emma has been my personal trainer for the last four years.  The results that I have achieved to date are largely due to Emma’s combination of diverse training methods, individualised exercise programmes and challenging yet achievable goal setting. Emma is at all times professional, knowledgeable and her enthusiasm is infectious.

Bosu (both sides used)

Because the Bosu is never stable, your body is constantly having to switch on the smaller muscle groups throughout the whole body to keep you in place.

Using the Bosu adds versability to the workout but it also makes the training session a little bit more fun. It can also make the session more challenging and interesting to standing on the floor doing your exercises.

The Bosu is used for many things which include endurance, strength, balance and stability but for todays session we focussed on using it for balance.

The exercise we did was standing on the Bosu ( black side up) with one foot, once I could see he was ok with this we challenged him more by adding in a 1kg medicine ball and throwing it from one hand to another. He did really well with this exercise and manged to do it for the full time I asked him to which was 1 minute 3 times on each leg.
